Thermal Detection System devices (TDS) are designed to detect hazardous temperatures that can occur on energized Medium and High Voltage switchgear using contactless IR technology. The very small and reliable sensor(s) can be easily mounted near the target zone and a signal is sent to the control unit by electrical shielded cable.
The control unit is locally operated and can manage up to 6 independent channels/sensors for easy coverage of a large area. It also allows the operator to have a clear and fast understanding of the thermal situation inside the switchgear/ cubicle.
Each alarm is indicated by a red led. Real time temperature information for each sensor can be seen on the LCD display by scrolling. Dip-switches are conveniently located on the front of the device for easy customization of “alarm” and “lock” temperature settings. Real-time diagnostics supervise both the device and sensors making a safe system. Signals for dangerous over-temperature conditions and loss of power are controlled by changeover contacts. Digital transmission by Pro bus DP-V0 is available if a net is required.
